A short note before we start
Dear landlord,
If you've been letting for more than a season, you'll know that the gap between listing a property and handing over the keys is where most of the cost, the stress and the unanswered emails live. A good agent charges 10% and still leaves you with a 23-day void. A cheap online portal leaves you doing the referencing yourself at 11pm.
We built DaisyLets because we thought small landlords deserved something in between: a real platform with real people, where listing is genuinely free, the tenant match happens in 11 days on average, and the worst-case scenario — a tenancy that collapses in year one — is met with two months' rent credited to your next tenancy, not a shrug.
The rest of this page walks through, step by step, exactly what happens after you hit List My Property Free. No jargon. No upsell. Just the working parts.
— The DaisyLets team, Manchester
Chapter one
The four acts of letting with DaisyLets.
From the moment you start typing your address to the day the first month's rent lands in your account — usually about eleven days, start to finish.
-
01
List your property in about six minutes.
Fill in the address, the rent you'd like, the bedrooms, and a few photos from your phone. That's it — no payment page, no tiered package. Right-to-Rent, AML, credit checks and referencing are already included in the £0 listing, not bolted on as extras.
-
02
An ARLA-qualified team reviews every listing by hand.
Within four working hours, one of our in-house lettings specialists — yes, an actual person with an ARLA qualification — reads your listing, suggests two or three small edits that usually lift viewings by a third, and offers a free professional photography upgrade if your phone snaps won't do the rooms justice.
-
03
A vetted tenant match in eleven days, on average.
Your listing goes live to 612,000+ vetted tenants across England, Wales and Scotland. Enquiries land in your inbox within hours. We shortlist using Right-to-Rent, AML, credit, employer and previous-landlord references — and we share the shortlist with you, not just the first applicant who replies.

04
Contract, deposit and check-in, sorted by us.
Once you've picked a tenant, our team draws up the AST, registers the £2,400 Deposit Passport (free, claims resolved in five working days) and books the check-in inventory. Move-in day lands roughly eleven days after your listing went live — about a third of the time of a typical high-street let.

Chapter two
Every tenant is checked. By humans, not bots.
A "vetted tenant" is a phrase that gets used loosely elsewhere. Here is exactly what it means on a DaisyLets listing — and why it's included free, rather than charged as a £250 referencing upgrade.
- Right-to-Rent. A manual document check against a current passport or Home Office share code, signed off by a DaisyLets specialist. No automated passport selfies.
- AML (anti-money-laundering). Source-of-funds confirmation for the first month's rent and deposit, run against the UK sanctions list.
- Credit check. A full Equifax report — not a soft search, not a marketing "eligibility" tick.
- Employer reference. Confirmed by a phone call to a named HR contact or accountant, not a generic email address.
- Previous-landlord reference. A real conversation with the tenant's last landlord, including any arrears history.
If anything looks off at any stage, your DaisyLets lettings specialist calls you before the viewing is booked — not after the keys have changed hands.
Chapter three
What letting actually costs in 2024.
A side-by-side of what a typical small landlord pays on DaisyLets versus a typical high-street letting agent — on a £950pcm two-bed flat on a 12-month tenancy.

Chapter four
If the tenancy fails in year one, we cover two months.
The Two-Month Rent Guarantee is the bit of DaisyLets we're proudest of, and the bit most small landlords tell us they wish had existed five years ago. Here's how it works, in plain English.
What it covers
If a tenant we placed leaves or defaults within 12 months of move-in — for any reason short of damage caused by you or a natural disaster — we credit two months' rent to your next tenancy on DaisyLets.
What it doesn't
It isn't rent insurance regardless of circumstances — that's a different product. It doesn't cover damage, rent arrears during a successful tenancy, or tenancies placed outside DaisyLets. The full small print lives in your landlord dashboard.
Why we can offer it
Because our vetting is thorough and our tenant network is large, tenancy collapses inside year one are rare — under 2% of placements in 2024. The Guarantee is funded out of that headroom, not out of your listing fee.
The Deposit Passport
Every tenancy also comes with a Deposit Passport covering up to £2,400 of tenant deposits at zero cost to you, with claims resolved in five working days — protecting the tenants on the other side of the agreement.
